I’m working with two third years.
A is very good on substance and produces excellent drafts, but can be very unresponsive especially if the request is on the menial side (such as regular file management). She seems to consider herself above doing certain types of work but also wouldn’t delegate to juniors or paralegals. Last time, I had to send her five emails to get her to move one document to the correct location. I expressly told her feel free to utilize paras as long as you check their work. Radio silence for days while responding to other emails.
B can be a bit sloppy and produces fine drafts, but she is always very responsive and takes care of my requests promptly. I spend more time checking her work but never have to worry about her disregarding any of my requests.
I enjoy more working with B. What do you folks think?

Do you think poorly of a male associate who wears makeup.
Super light, almost only foundation. No shading or eye makeup. I do it because I have lots of acne scars. I’m worried about the negative social stigma associated with men wearing makeup in a professional setting.
And if this is a legit concern, what can I do to make it less obvious while hiding my acne scars? Thank you.

How does vacation time factor into annual billing requirements?
Current student going into BL after graduation. I see people on here say that taking vacation is fine, and advising to take a full week off so that partners respect your time off.
However, my question is how does vacation factor into your annual billables? If you miss your target for your bonus, for example, can vacation compensate for the difference, or are associates expected to reach their bonus target regardless of vacation? My guess is that you are expected to reach your target regardless of vacation, in which case it isn’t really vacation at all, but rather postponing work that you have to make up for later lol. Thanks for your insights!

saw the thread op. amusing that this reply was heavily downvoted
Surely it would have been faster to just do it yourself? This feels like classic middle management power-wielding for no good reason. I would 100% be annoyed if I’m harassed over something like this if I’m also on a much more complex/meaningful assignment which of course is more worth my time. I’d respond with something saying I’ll do it later, but I would absolutely judge the mid level for not doing their own bitchwork if I’ve told them I’m busy.
