If you are asking why I celebrate one or what choice I would make were I the manager faced with the decision, then personally I applaud the Vante action and criticize the Greek action because i think the former case rose to the level where retribution was warranted (I would've fired him) whereas the Olympian's comments did not (I wouldn't have kicked her out).
Personally, I would make that admittedly very subjective assessment on a fact-specific sliding scale and a glib joke on twitter, the costs of which are spread out on among a disparate unascertained (therefore making consent impossible to obtain) group, is not the same as a 5 minute tirade that you unilaterally post onto youtube without consent at some poor targeted cashier's sole expense, hoping to extract all the benefits of shitlib notoriety therefrom.
This is what you fail to see and assume instead that in order to be consistent you either have to be for both or against both simply because of one similarly-shared motivation behind the action (to protect public image). Decision-making in life is more nuanced that that. My managerial style tends to looks for and eliminate similarities so that I can concentrate on identifying and prioritizing the differences according to policy preferences. |
