yes but a lot of people try to spin against the tornado. the trick is to spin with the tornado

wait what

if you spin against you would basically cancel out the tornado and remain still. wouldnt spinning with send you up into the eye and ultimately get you ejected from the top

that seems intuitive but he is right. spinning *with* the tornado renders the vortex powerless against you and you can finally get firm traction. it's like steering into the skid when driving on ice.

Once you're matching the speed should you try to make your way to the edge of the tornado to get out, or stay in the middle until the tornado blows itself out?

the former is riskier for sure but sometimes you have get out of there. the third option is to scrunch down and grab the bottom of the vortex with your hands and lift it above your head and kind of toss it sideways. it's made of air so it's not as heavy as you'd imagine.

Didn't think of that. I always figured I'd try to find something like a car or a mattress flying around and get in or use it to protect myself.

The serious answer to this is yes, but people who are capable of doing this end up spinning deeply into the ground.
