Just sued an apartment complex for trying to keep a security deposit

Landlord withheld part of his deposit to replace the carpet. No mention of why. I’m guessing they do this to every tenant and it’s too much trouble for most people to fight it. Date: June 10th, 2025 1:17 PM Author: Marvelous alpha a lot of jurisdictions require landlords to do basic renovations like fresh paint and carpets every 2 years. check to see if that's the case. they may have even been obligated to do it before he moved in or while he was there, so they may OWE him. keep in mind that the biggest TTT retards work in landlord-tenant law, and many landlords dont even consult lawyers, so these cases are easy to win. i once secured a $300k payout for my friend to leave her shitty NYC apartment even tho it was questionable whether she ever had a valid lease or it was rent stabilized. unfortunately, this dumb bitch decided to pass on that as long as she didnt have to move out.
