these kind of arguments don't hold up very well, because AI proponents just point out that the benefits of AI to society outweigh these kind of small externalized costs. you can make this same form of argument for every technology and industry. our brains don't do this for already established technologies and industries because we implicitly understand them as a "cost of doing business" with those industries/technologies that benefit society as a whole
the only good argument against AI is also the most effective one: that the actual effects of AI on society will be negative, rather than positive. that it is qualitatively different from all other technologies, in that it displaces humans themselves, rather than just human labor
anti-AI polemicists really need to hammer this point home at the exclusion of all other complaints about AI, which really only serve as red herrings that de-legitimize AI complaints in the eyes of the public
