It doesn't matter if you haven't had a single hair on your head for decades, people are forever 'perplexed' by your baldness & never let you sink into it, its like youve "just" lost your hair every day
In my 20s, no one ever commented on my hair or looks, at all
Since going bald in my 30s, Ive never had so many acquaintances, co workers etc go out of their way to comment on my head/hair.
The strangest thing is, theres almost no informational content to the things they say beyond "I have noticed you are bald" "You are bald" "You do not have hair"
They simply cannot help themselves, something in people is hardwired to "address" a lack of hair like ur an amputee or something.
Despite the fact that 50% of men will at some point in their lives experience MPB, The entire planet still seems utterly nonplussed by baldness
No one will ever let you be bald and just chill. I didnt even care about being bald until I experienced how relentless the interpersonal hell of being bald actually is. Its just non stop comments and people needing to make you viscerally Aware You are Bald At All Times
Like "You are now manually breathing" but for remembering you dont have hair on your head
Noone cared who I was when I had hair or paid attention to me
But not having hair? It actually drives OTHER people nuts. It doesnt matter if uve numbed yourself to it, your lack of hair is a much bigger problem for OTHER people looking AT you, it legitimately drives them nuts
