And I get it. The underlying premise isn't wrong. Looks matter. Height matters. Race creates real friction in Western dating markets. Anyone telling you otherwise is either lying or hasn't coached enough men to know the difference.

It's always mattered no matter what anyone might have said. But I've been watching the looksmaxxing content get more extreme and catching on with Gen Z young Asian males and I want to share something I haven't seen articulated clearly in this sub.

The framework is fundamentally Eurocentric. And if you follow the logic all the way to its conclusion, specifically for Asian men, you end up in a place that should concern you.

The looksmaxxing hierarchy is built around a white European aesthetic ideal. Jaw width. Canthal tilt. Brow ridge. Facial thirds. The reference point is almost always a white male face. Matt Bomer. Brad Pitt. Henry Cavill. Chad. That's the ceiling they're measuring against.

So what's the logical endpoint for an Asian man who fully buys into this? You can't change your bone structure to a Eurocentric ideal without extreme surgery. You can't change your eye shape. You can't change the fundamental architecture of your face.

And if you go far enough down the rabbit hole, especially in a manosphere space that is often openly racist, the prescription isn't just looksmaxx. It's racemaxx. Literally be less Asian. Assimilate your appearance toward whiteness as much as possible in order to maximize your dating and financial outcomes.

That's where the logic leads. And I think a lot of Asian men are absorbing that framework without realizing it's asking them to be ashamed of what they look like.

There's a difference between being good looking and looking good.

Being good looking is largely genetic. Being tall, having a certain bone structure, being born into the aesthetic that a particular culture happens to value at this particular moment in history. You either have it or you don't, and you can only move the needle so far.

Looking good is completely within your control. Fashion. Fit. Hair. Skincare. Posture. The way you carry yourself in a room. An average guy can move meaningfully on the attractiveness scale through deliberate self-improvement. That matters and it's worth doing.

I call it looksoptimization rather than looksmaxxing because the distinction is real. One is a healthy pursuit. The other is a feedback loop that ends in body dysmorphia at best and something much worse at worst.

Clavicular, who is arguably the most prominent face of the looksmaxxing movement right now, was hospitalized last night after a suspected overdose. He's 20 years old and I genuinely hope he recovers.

But he also admitted on camera that he takes drugs just to approach women. The guy who "ascended" by every metric his own community uses still can't talk to a girl without pharmaceutical assistance.

Meanwhile I'm 5'4", Vietnamese, and I've been approaching women in nightclubs in front of my students for 20 years without steroids, surgery, or medication. Not because I was born with genetic advantages. Because I learned a skill that is learnable.

I want to be successful because I'm an Asian man. Not in spite of it. I could have spent 20 years wishing I was born tall, dark and handsome. Instead I learned to be short, stunning and smooth. That reframe is not cope. It's the actual foundation of everything that works.

The K-pop shift is real and I think it's one of the most underreported developments in this space. K-pop dismantled the Western monopoly on male attractiveness. There are cities right now where being a stylish Asian man is a genuine social advantage, not a liability.

I've watched it happen in Latin America, in Eastern Europe, in Southeast Asia. Asian men who leaned into their identity instead of trying to approximate a Eurocentric ideal got treated like celebrities.

Looksoptimize. Absolutely. Fix what you can fix. Fashion, grooming, fitness, skincare. Get above the fuckable line through every legitimate means available to you. But don't follow a framework that is asking you to be ashamed of your face in the process.

The goal isn't to ascend. The goal is to build a life you're proud of while looking like yourself.
