The gist of the article is that men have health problems and don’t seek medical attention, obesity is a serious medical complication, and that GLP1s treat obesity.
It feels like a direct attack.
All of the comments on this slam piece are absolutely brutal as basically everyone in America seems to think that fat people have no self-control and are all to blame for their medical condition. It’s really kind of sad that people think this way about fats, it’s humiliating even. I feel like I belong to a second class of citizens. Also, I really have no time for go kayaking or play golf like the fat middle aged man in the article. So I might as well just work until I die.

How is this a "slam piece"?
Men exceedingly have health problems linked to their obesity. There are treatments that can profoundly assist in treating the problems and underlying problems.
Men are unlikely to avail themselves of these. It sounds familiar to all of us on xo

I mean sure. We’re culpable and responsible just as a child diagnosed with glioblastoma is responsible for the cancerous cells in her brain. They’re hers she has to deal with them.
Fats have to deal with the burden of their health complications. The aching back, knees, hips. The sharp pains in the kidneys. The sweet smelling thick urine. The dry throat in the mornings from a night of snoring, the headaches and lethargy of poor blood flow, losing all the hair on their legs and feet, the swelling in the feet, the dry cracked heels that never heal and hurt to walk on, the inability and lack of desire to do physical things, the depression of not meeting other people’s expectations.
So yeah, I agree with you, fat people have to shoulder all that. But they don’t need the added insult of—you are the sole cause of your own medical condition, you disgust me, and I could never have empathy for a fat shit like you.
