I was literally talking about it with a French guy today about how the system is designed to basically thwart any type of change. In our winner take all system you can actually vote for an outsider and go in a different direction. In France if you have any less than a super majority it just goes to political gridlock and nothing happens for years and then it just goes back to how things were. It's literally impossible to fix anything unless you convinced 2/3rds of voters to do something drastic. |

There have always been a decent number of scammers in super tourist areas, and there have always been tons of Africans in the 18-20th arrondissements. To me the one major change I saw over time was the rise of homeless encampments. There used to not be any and now there's a ton. It's way worse than the scammers.
