what do you mean exactly. I only learned of Zapffe through Ligotti, who I already was in 100% agreement with. I think Ligotti just stumbled upon Zapffe in an issue of Philosophy Now because it was the only English translation of an obscure Norwegian philosopher. And naturally Zapffe's essay hewed close to Ligotti's own worldview.
Notably, Zapffe was relatively chipper and buoyant in his lifetime. He was a lawyer and mountaineer so he must've been at least moderately social and community-minded. His strict adherence to antinatalism would've been pretty outré back then, even in Northern Europe where people are generally less retarded.
