They’re designed to sell financing and bloated insurance products and service contracts.

Clique System. there's a shadow economy of people with no Engineering awareness where the entire business model is BS. The top guys at the car dealership make $800,000k and golf a lot.

I've never encountered a car salesman who knew a single thing about any Car, whatsoever, period, except maybe what Packages have which Options

I'm a good example why, I think. I would love to buy my preferred vehicle used, with cash, and then have a trusted mechanic fix what's wrong with it. But I don't have that much cash on hand.

But I do have a stable job, and excellent credit. So buying a car from a dealership is only a matter of a couple hours haggling. I use my paycheck to make the payments.

Dealerships make nice cars available to poor people who can make payments.

whats weird is that Ford can deliver it to the dealer, but they clearly do not have the capacity to deliver it to an address that is NOT a dealer.

thank god we have dealers who are willing to take in such cars and then charge us a few thousand dollars for them using their address as such

most states require them by law. over the decades the dealers made a lot of friends in a lot of state legislatures and the practice is legally protected.

I don't like dealerships, the worst kind of people work at them. But I feel like without them, cars might actually be more overpriced than they are now.

Only if you're a shrewd buyer and know how to swoop in on some Model that's disproportionately good for how well it's selling.

for the common prole buyer they get ripped off imo
