My wife drives me nuts. She wants to have family photos taken.

Date: November 8th, 2025 3:22 PM Author: mahogany nibblets She found some "photographer" on Facebook or something and this crazy lady wants us to pack up our kids, drive 40 minutes to some park, stand around in the 90 degree weather squinting into the direct sunlight for the shoot. My wife wants everyone in heavy fall clothes. I just told her. Look, everyone's face is going to be red and we are going to be sweating profusely. Our hair will be wet and the pictures will look like shit if we do this today. Now my wife is crying. She says, "I can't do anything right." Oh brother. Am I the only one that thinks about the optics? |

I guess that makes her 180 in a way. For example, she tries really hard to be the best she possibly can at her job. I find that admirable. I certainly don't do that in my job because I find it draining if not painful to even think about work. I handle all of the money and spending decisions. I carry the stress of making sure everything is done and taken care of. She will do thing like sign our kids up for activities and classes, but then the stress of carting them to and from is too much, and I'm there to be like, look we just can't do this. It doesn't fit our family and we can't be everywhere at once and we can't spend all of this time carting kids to and from everywhere. I think maybe I should encourage her more. |

I have a shoebox of discarded photos in my closet. The oldest I am in them is about 12 years old. I have shared a couple on xo before. |
