But to me the author or committee was basically saying we need to throw in a certain number from every era for it to be credible. So it's like they just picked something at random that could have been anything rather than a consensus pick. Many to most of the bands on there probably belong there. Some of the ordering is weird. I think on second thought I agree Oasis probably doesn't belong there. I like them but only a few songs. There are a bunch on here I don't really like at all too but they probably belong due to influence/popularity. It's impossible to make a perfect list. If you aren't just doing your personal list you have to pretend that it's Balanced and culturally appropriate. I don't want to put Metallica on a list of best bands, but they influenced an entire genre of music and had tremendous far-reaching influence.
