The loans accumulate interest but not as fast as the market. I suppose you have to sell some amount every year to make the payment but you only pay out of gains in interest and never the principle. So you're always growing the principle, you're always beating inflation, you're paying down the loan at a low fixed rate but no one is rushing to pay this stuff off.
And then eventually you get margin called and have to pony up but you've doubled your money by then. I think this happened to Elon and he had to sell Tesla stonk and write a billion dollar check to the govvy. But in the meantime he got richer and richer far faster than he other would have selling stonks along the way and paying for shit in cash. |

Based on percentage of how much money the working class have to pay it's insane. Meanwhile there's a 1.2 trillion dollar deficit every year and the richest Americans collectively own 46 trillion in assets. They could easily close the gap.
You can say well why not just cut spending. Too unpopular. You cut social security and a bunch of old people die. You can't cut military. 20% now is servicing the debt itself. There's nothing left to cut. Snap is a pittance. We could literally just get all the money we needed to fund the government from turbo rich people when they die. They don't pay any tax during their life so why not just get it when they're gone.
It comes down to who actually funds the government. Working people fund 85-90% of it. People who can't afford shit pay for it. |

1/3 to engineering 1/3 to public healthcare 1/3 to a much smaller military and that’s it.
Everything else shouldn’t exist. There shouldn’t be any social security, Dep of Education/transportation/energy/housing etc. |

I see reports of those guys selling stock from time to time or donating to their foundations.
what interest rate are they paying? It should be around 6-9% annual interest right, compounding in kind presumably? After a few years are you really better off than just paying 24% capital gains tax? |

A lot of banks make easy money lending to corporate executives against their stock holdings but typically it's done more for access to liquidity and not tax reasons. If you are a senior corporate executive or founder, a lot of your wealth is tied up in company equity that may be unfeasible or unattractive to sell (selling large chunks of stock may drive down share prices etc.) so to unlock the value of that stock to either diversify your holdings or buy things like houses, boats, private jets or whatever you take out a loan against the stock, then pay it back later when it's more advantageous to liquidate some equity.
