Date: November 27th, 2025 10:24 PM Author: alcoholic address sound barrier i'd have to pull out my copy, it was kind of hard to find. but im in bed with a pulled neck atm i'm not sure if several of them have formal names. i have a uchicago compendium of his medical teachings and a couple of loose ones. i want to say the text im referring to is called "on the causes of symptoms". had a long commentary from a doctor turned rabbi in the preface discussing maimonides history in the practice most of them took from the classics and arabic texts lost in the sack of (iirc) the Abbasid caliphate by the mughals so it's the only way to engage with some of this stuff. arabic medicine gets references a lot but many of the original sources were lost to the euphrates afaik |
