wrestled all 4 years of high school, went to states, but stopped competing ever since then. been going to a BJJ gym for a couple years 3x a week mostly to stay in shape and get out of my apt.
one of the coaches there pulled me aside recently and told me i have a pretty high ceiling (grappling anyway) even though i dont put a whole lot of time into it. he told me if i want to take this seriously, i need to dedicate the next few years with no distractions.
he's bros with a guy at an MMA gym in NYC who is looking to take on some prospects and i can get a tryout. the BJJ coach said this MMA coach sends his best guys to Dagestan to train at Khabib's gym. should i even consider this? i'm 33 btw.
