Ever push a VHS tape into a VCR and heard all those little motors whirr and buzz? Ever seen a Lexus with a Pioneer 6-CD caddy in the glovebox? Ever seen one fail? What about MiniDisc players? Sony made millions.

In terms of "software" in those days, at most you got a programmable LCD screen and some buttons. Japanese people never cared about the computer. They were trying to perfect the tiny motors and microscopic doodads inside the device. They were doing that better than whitey, coming up with new applications and designs for these things, giving us Infiniti cars with active suspension to rub our faces in it right before the crash

That's not bullshit though. The micro electric fad came and went, CD players and VCRs vanished and companies like Samsung could compete in consumer electronics. Korean firms could never compete on manufacturing quality but that's less of an issue when there are no moving parts. When semiconductors started to replace moving parts Japan suddenly had no edge

Idc if the Koreans make cell phones; Japanese culture is still superior in every respect to every other culture.

Yes but it can be misdirected. In the 80s they thought the party would never end and devoted all that brainpower to technology that was barely good for 15 years. I wish they hadn't done that even though it was cool at the time

its hilarous how birdshit retards ideaalize jap culture not knowing anything abt it, and ironically nowadays chinks are the superior culture in every furking way but u retards cannot acknowledge that. almost all of "japanese culture" derives from chink culture btw, eat shit and die

China can't do optics which is why they can't make lithography machines like Nikon and Canon. No one trusts them to do QC either. That hasn't changed since the 80s. China keeps saying they'll make lithography machines, but it never happens so they still need TSMC
