South Korea generated this yuge surplus of pure shit off-brand footwear and undergarments, then shipped them to distributors in America who peddled them to blacks at flea markets.
These were the only South Korean immigrants who retained fond memories of South Korea. For them, life in America was just boxes of shoes and bags of socks and crumpled $1 bills from the ghetto. Back in Korea they had the sea. The mountains. |

That books take the piss out of South Korea like nothing else I've read. The author was apparently a huge supporter of North Korea in the 1970s, so he gives you a raw look at how these chaebols and South Korean government were operating in the 60s and 70s, and how shitty and crude they were for the longest time. You'll know why everything made in Korea is shit after reading that book, and why South Korea ultimately pooped out and plateaued and achieved nothing. From a IRL commie. |
