The Ghanaian music community is in mourning following the tragic death of Nkawkaw-based rapper Fada Gaza, who was killed in a violent confrontation on Sunday, November 2, 2025.
According to multiple reports, the incident began as a heated argument between the musician and another man, which quickly escalated into a physical altercation where both individuals allegedly stabbed each other.
Both men were rushed to the Holy Family Catholic Hospital in Nkawkaw for emergency treatment. However, Fada Gaza was pronounced dead on arrival. The other man, who sustained severe injuries, received initial medical attention at the same facility before being transferred to the Police Hospital in Accra for further specialized care.
Confirming the incident to JoyNews, the Kwahu West Municipal Director of Health, Celestina Asante, provided grim details of the rapper’s injuries. “The deceased had visible wounds around the armpit, ribs, and lower abdomen,” she explained, describing the wounds as consistent with an attack from a knife or cutlass.
The situation grew tense at the hospital following the rapper’s death. Ms. Asante reported that a large crowd of aggrieved Nkawkaw youth gathered, demanding that the injured suspect be handed over to them in an outburst of anger over the loss of their local artist.
The body of Fada Gaza has been deposited at the Holy Family Hospital morgue pending further investigations and autopsy.
As of now, the Ghana Police Service has not released an official statement on the circumstances of the fatal fight or confirmed if any arrests have been made. The transfer of the surviving suspect to a secure facility in Accra suggests authorities are acting to prevent further violence and ensure a thorough investigation into the incident that has shaken the Nkawkaw community.
