so are soldiers in a war. so is the janitor at gc megacorps.

most people are good. the ceo luigi murked is likely no different than any other healthcare ceo, and there are thousands of people under him that'll do the same job he did. everyone here has facilitates gc.

but to cause the system to change there needs to be pressure. no big changes happen without it. some good eggs get broken. it's unavoidable.

there isn't some evil kabal behind the scenes pulling strings. everyone is just rationally acting in their own interest. when its in their interest not to exploit people, they wont. until then they will, and they have to. it's not like nike can just start paying workers more and sell jordans for $1000.

every middle upper class/professional class person votes and exerts a radically disproportionate amount of influence on politics. who do you think gives their implicit consent to the regulatory state because more paperwork means more white collar bullshit? who is it exactly that benefits from perpetuating a soft financial-based economy instead of manufacturing? who is responsible for portraying the ideal american professional outcome as being a worker at google or mckinsey or goldman sachs, and raising their children to do just that?

CEOs matter for jack shit. There is no conspiracy. There is just a deeply entrenched professional class and the gears of the country turn in service to it. Fuck you and your bitching about tax dollars, for professionals at least it's put to damn good use in furthering your interests. The stock number is going up, there are more make-work white collar jobs than ever marching us to defeat against China.

lmao what

you're right that the problem is systemic but it's not like sachs or mckinsey exists because of government policy, or that pmc types are "voting" for it. lots of these people support deregulation and eliminating a lot of red tape.

pmc push their kids into pmc careers because they're the best way to earn a high wage with a good QOL. if you had kids you'd advise them to become a plumber over an account or coder? please.

if we want to bring manufacturing and actual industry back we need to make the us competitive and for those jobs to be attractive. that type of restructuring would be very painful, so we don't. didn't you oppose the tariffs?

This country has always lacked any kind of revolutionary drive outside of the 1770s. Even at the height of the workers' union movement the membership in socialist and communist parties was much lower than you would find in Europe. There is a persistent Horatio Alger bootstrap mentality among the folk.

But that can change. Trumpism, oddly enough, is a sign that people are starting to look at our top-heavy system and question it.

Cr Americans are TTT at revolution. People are very complacent about how the whole political system is designed to keep the people at the top at the top. They keep voting for the corrupt AF major parties based on bullshit like wokeness/anti-wokeness instead of demanding leaders that serve the people.

Yes, Trump correctly identified and exploited people's distrust of the elites, although I'll never understand why so many people failed to realize that he's part of the exact same ruling class he railed against.
