Are there any genuinely cool famous people today?

Date: December 10th, 2025 3:26 PM Author: carmine tripping indian lodge Had this talk with a friend recently. We agreed that there are way fewer genuinely cool (famous) people today than in years past. Here's a short list of people we thought might actually qualify:
--Hunter Biden: does whatever he wants, effectively operated as an international criminal making millions, did hard drugs and got his fuck on with reckless abandon. Speaks completely freely.
--Ohtani: largely because of the mystique afforded to him by never speaking English and being the potential GOAT of his profession.
--Trump: more so when he first ran in 2016.
We talked about some F1 guys, but then you think about someone like Senna and LJL with these young guys. Give me Bernie Ecclestone over any of the drivers (even if he is 95.)
I guess you could argue for someone like DiCaprio, but I don't see it anymore. Almost every famous person turns out lame when they start opining on social issues. Hard to name anyone with a true devil may care approach to life today. Everyone is too busy managing their "brand." Gay.
Also: no women. Women aren't cool.

Feels a bit like qualifying as "cool" requires a combo of: not giving a fuck what anyone thinks; total comfort in one's own skin; handsome looks (or just being good with women with minimal effort); some element of mystery (to let your brain fill in the gaps.) I don't think money really matters and is probably detrimental to being cool if it becomes someone's core driving purpose.
