Mid 40s. I told her what to invest in when we were 25 and she listened to me. Otherwise, she’d have probably put in 5% of her income and invested it in bond funds or something. She also gets a 9% match.
I got a much later start because of my law career (I was job pwnd for first couple years out of law school) but when I was a partner in biglaw, I could put away like $60k. And last year, I moved to a firm with a self-directed option. I rolled everything over in September and it was $675k. Maxed out contributions and put a shitload of it into the btc and ETH ETFs and a few other ETFs (voo, smh, schd, schg), and almost exactly a year later my balance is $1,004,000. Hers is $1,049,000. Mine shot above hers, but crypto has pulled back some.

My old 401K’s that converted to IRA’s are up from 1.5M to 1.9M, Actual 401K account that I haven’t converted is up from 700K to 850K.
I don’t work anymore and collect disability at 49 years old. I haven’t needed to touch my retirement accounts because I make more than my burn rate from disability alone. I’ll start withdrawing this year at 4.7% and plan on taking a couple more vacations.

I see OP is panicked pumo from March lmao.
It would be almost impossible to be down unless you were actively mismanaging it. Vanguard 2065 is up 15%.
