There have been civilizations that have lasted for thousands of years without any breakdown in the social order.
Furthermore, when there have been collapses there have been factors that caused then. They weren't just spontaneous events.
In order to argue that the USA in the 21st century is headed for any kind of collapse, you have to show that at least some of those factors are present. You haven't done that.

outside of the Pax Romana I think you're stretching it, up until very recently the odds of being caught up in some sort of warfare were very high pretty much everywhere, as I said, I'm not talking full on collapse of civilization, but short term breakdowns are not that rare, not fifty years ago the entire European continent, most of asia, and the civilized parts of Africa went through it
and droughts, famines, and plagues were pretty common, we've certainly increased out ability to fight that but the idea that we're perfectly safe is silly and given the consequences it isn't irrational to take even a small chance pretty seriously
