Date: December 20th, 2008 7:35 PM Author: bearded comical prole set i have an old text by Bodie. the chapters on "security analysis"- about 100pages, have taught me a lot about how the stocks are priced. now i know there are various "gurus" who advocate certain strategies and some have written books like Graham, Lynch, Fisher,etc. But obviously u can get a summary of their strategies online or in some standard text. So any must reads?
also regarding Graham, is his book interesting in a historical context, like what does he write about for 200+ pages if his pricing strategies can be summarized in 1 page? |

It helps to have a framework for analysis which you seem to have explored. In the end, investing is about controlling your own biases. I think of investing as different from trading but it is very useful and necessary to read books about trading mentality etc to avoid some common problems. Don't know offhand how far back it goes - somewhere in the 90s? but edgar is good for getting used to reading financial statements. |
