It's prolly

Yale Law > Podiatry School > H/S Law > Optometry School > CCN Law > Pharm > T14

Of course, any Medical or dental school >>>>>>>>>>>>> Yale law.

i honestly don't care because i'm not going into law or medicine, but i do know that i'd rather have a t6 jd than a podiatry or optometry license.

anyone with some social skills and excellent work ethic can make mid-6 figures by 40 coming out of a t6 law school (legal or non-legal).

the reality is that i'd have a much, much better chance of making $1+ million/yr coming out of hys law than going to podiatry school.

earning potential is capped when you go the med route. however, it's good for people who don't wish to work all that hard and aren't socially capable of getting things done.

the 80-90% who come out of hys law and don't make $1+ million/yr by age 45 or so don't make that because they either don't have the drive and want a low stress career, don't have the social skills, choose something they're passionate about that isn't all that lucrative, or would rather go the family route which leads me back to the low stress/low hours career. people who come out of hys law have the opportunity to make insane amounts of money; whether or not they capitalize on that opportunity is another story.

that said, if your sole goal is to make a shitload of money, hys law would be the obvious choice.

sure, if you just collect your hys law degree and sit back and wait for someone to hand you a job, it won't happen.

The opportunities likely won't exist when you need them ... nepotism is already reigning supreme and soon there won't be any jobs at all giving such opportunities

Don't say nobody warned you of this fact when it happens in 20 years

i'd also like to say that if you're interested in entrepreneurship, hys is probably has the best network for that.

Yeah because when the US economy is on the hinge of total Western European style stagflation, the wealthy will be passing out jobs to those just like you who "chilled with them over dinner one day" and shit.

as national debt increases, opportunities decrease, nepotistic hiring practices increase and business development flounders

Pretty simple really.

tbf, I went to HYPS, graduated C/O 2009 and the job market really IS that bad.

I will say, however, that I do have quite substantial connections whenever I move abroad to pursue my business interests.

I'm not merely talking about the job market in the USA though... I'm just telling you that the opportunity for HLS grads to waltz into $1mm/yr jobs in 10-15 yrs will prob not even exist anymore...

Because employers operate under the mistaken belief that someone with a Yale UG degree will jump ship... they don't hire them on, and they also generally don't even interview such kids.

TBF, friends of mine from my UG were unemployed for >10 mths last year

Also the cut offs for HYPS consulting firms was like a 3.7 GPA (lol) which is stupid.

For w/e reason dumbass employers believe their local TTT grad with a 3.8 > a HYPS kid with a 3.6

That leads to such issues.

I should have hustled more in 2008, but I had such a good job then I just ASSUMED I'd be fine given my pedigree etc.

Luckily I finally landed another good job ($65k/yr base)

If you consider Urgent care docs and ER docs (internal medicine too) to be GPs (which they are generally) then prob closer to 85-90%

Boomer docs aren't retiring... creating a huge issue for anyone trying to become a specialist anymore.
