"detaching myself from responsibility by considering my behavior 'self destructive' rather than straight up stupid"
Never thought of it like this; TY

using this boart as my main means of social interaction
getting wasted solo then going out and not remembering a thing
being insanely angry at society, cumskins, my childhood, all humanity
being too lazy to work
not seeing the value of living in a commercialized capitalistic whorehouse with idiots (i.e. America)
wanting to rape your mom even though her vag is probably all fat and bubbly

risky physical shit (driving fast, doing stupid shit while rock-climbing/biking etc.), cigs/drugs/booze, sometimes have drunk unwrapped sex....
that's about it. none of it is intentionally self-destructive.

This.
Never using condoms
Being too big picture and not giving a fuck about details
Letting good friendships fall away
Choosing rest over self-improvement
Choosing comfort over self-criticism
Gauging success by percentiles
Having no concept of money

Yeah I've got issues with just about everything you listed I just thought those were too mild to be considered self-destructive, but if we're going to allow those then yeah.
Actually, I'm alright on these ones:
"
Choosing comfort over self-criticism
Gauging success by percentiles

"i climb things for no real reason without any gear. not just cliffs, but buildings and shit. the thing is, i've never done ANY kind of formal climber safety training. i just go by feel, and do what feels natural. "
I love to do this shit. I don't climb buildings 150 feet though. I've climbed up telephone poles and talls trees though, and regularly
Yes, you will fail at some point. A couple years ago I skidded about 10 feet down the trunk of a tree and hit my ass on one of the roots, probably fractured my ass bone and couldn't want right for a months or so and hadn't fallen from a tree since I was a kid.
One of the scarier times my climbing got the best of me was when my friend and i were drinking and decided to go off the trail in yosemite, and I was bouldering up the side of an almost sheer rock wall with no gear. At one point, i couldn't find any footholds or cracks to put my hands in and so I just clung there for like 5 minutes, wondering why the fuck I was dumb enough to get myself into that situation, until I found a small ledge jutting out from the edge of the trail and kind of like...hopped up about 6 inches (thankfully the fucking thing held otherwise i might not be posting this) and pulled myself up until I could swing my leg over the dirt.
But yeah, I've had a handful of near misses and some injuries. Something will happen to you at some point, just hope it doesn't kill or paralyze you.

This may be true. I do tend to see the best in people.
However, here's an example.
I took a fiction writing class because I want to test my skills. I'm not a very busy person and had plenty of time to write awesome pieces for workshop, but I always wrote them in half an hour the day they were due (knowing that the point was to put out my best work and see what kind of improvements I needed to make on my best effort).
I could probably be much farther in my career if I took more initiative and stuck out more but I sort of just do enough to get a high five now and again so I can goof off most of the time and browse the web.
