There's dumbed down RC and LR on both exams.

You can skip and return to questions on the GRE. You can't with the GMAT. So if you have timing issues, which your low LSAT score suggests, you want to take the GRE.

However, there may be several correct answers to multiple choice questions on the GRE. i.e., A, B, and C may all be correct, and you have to mark them as such, or you get no credit. If you've been getting by on clever guesswork on multiple choice questions, as your low LSAT score suggests, this can be a total mindfuck.

GMAT blends the V & Q into one, and you can carry a mediocre quant score with a strong verbal. My 97th percentile verbal and 78th percentile quant equaled a 97th percentile overall GMAT (740)

45 V isn't a perfect score (or "perfect"). I got a 45V on the gmat, and it was only 98th percentile. I think I've heard of 50s on V.

When I took it, the GRE was a joke like the SAT. But supposedly they changed the verbal section. Is it still easy?

A good question. I took it in...god, when was it? Late 2010? I think it was just shortly before they made the most recent changes to the test, including the changed score scale. If they significantly changed the substance of the test, I guess my statement could be suspect.

i did fine. it was low 700s. it was just surprising because the percentile score was so low. i got a much lower score on verbal but did better on it percentile wise.

i'm just saying having taken both gmat was way easier. as easy as gre math is supposed to be, gmat math is ridiculously easy.

the math may be easy (note, that because of the curve, it's still difficult to get a high score), but basically no American gets a perfect 51 Quant.

It sounds easier to achieve an impressive sounding GMAT score than GRE score, because the quant and verbal is added to form one score -- and apparently you can compensate for a bad math score with a strong verbal score.

But goddamn, studying sentence correction is tedious. And in my experience, hard GMAT problems are more difficult than hard GRE problems; yet, it seems, that correctly answered difficult GMAT problems lead to an elite score, whereas correctly answered difficult GRE problems lead only to an OK score (too many engineers w/ perfect scores).

Most programs accept both but like GMAT better. GRE is easier as a whole especially if you don't like math but GMAT puts both scores together so you can get a good score even if you suck at math, but what are you applying for?

accounting masters. if it matters, i'm not gunning for an elite score. i just want to break 60th percentile with minimal studying. prestige doesn't matter much for this degree. a top program opens a few more doors, but that probably wouldn't happen for me regardless of how great my score was
