It's a truly, truly awful show. Anyone into that show cannot be trusted or taken seriously.

exactly. To be fair, the amount of inaccuracy with respect to law and practice, while still substantial, is way less than most other legal shows. The other day I saw an episode of Franklin and Bash where a guy was charged with murder and they were literally in trial a few days later.

Yeah, Suits definitely has real former BigLaw advisers. The entire second season is about a gender discrimination class action with nuanced discussion of jurisdictions and procedure and then BAM the same lawyers take a software company public while repping the company and other parties in one afternoon.

What I love is that they have all these lawyer advisers who clearly work on the show (they nail some bizarre specific procedural issues and other aspects of law) but when it interferes with the plot they're like fuck that, clients can change law firms three times in a day!

i couldn't get over the triple-whammy absurd premise

a) a guy with no law school or legal experience fakes his way into working for a prestigious corporate boutique in mfh

b) that only hires harvard grads and

c) is run with an iron fist by a hot black chick

i mean, come on. Under the Dome has a more believable concept.

It was pretty friggin' entertaining season 1 and most of season 2. I got tired of the backstabbing and the tough lawyer bullshit after while and dropped the show from my rotation but I can see it has its own charm.

I think they made a fundamental mistake with the core premise. It would have worked just as well, if not even better if the only thing Mike was lying about was "going to Harvard" rather than not even being a lawyer at all. Having made Mike some genius kid who went to a TTTT like CUNY or NYLS instead, would have made Harvey and the boss partner's complicity a little more believable.

why does it have to be a "big deal" at all. Isn't the high-stakes, good-looking, alpha-lawyer setting enough? Ultimately its about the characters and plot lines and not the "big lie" anyway. Havent been watching but it seemed they sort of dropped the whole thing rather quickly.

cr lol, I would imagine this would be a less-than-compelling premise for the mostly nonlawyer prole audience.

Harvey: "Jessica we need to talk about something."

Jessica: *ostensibly quickwitted joke*

Harvey: *ostensibly quickwitted reply* "But seriously. It's about Mike Ross."

Jessica's *eyes narrow*

Harvey. "...He went to Cardozo."

*music crescendoes, cut to commercial*
