Crime, inequality, depression of working class wages, overburdened infrastructure and public resources such as education and benefits programs, cultural and geographical balkanization within our country, etc?
I thought libs were supposed to be intellectually honest, but they seem to pretend this stuff doesn't even exist. |

I don't think immigration is the primary cause of the depression of working class wages or the increase in the use of government benefits. Immigrants did not cause the 2008 crash and subsequent recession.
Immigrants are more likely to start businesses in tough areas and they simply work harder than the vast majority of working class Americans. If "cultural balkanization" means I can eat at top-notch Thai, Indian, Colombian, Ethiopian, and Italian restaurants within a 5-block radius, then I'm pro-balkanization. |

Illegal immigrants commit sex crimes and violent crimes at an astonishing rate.
Illegal immigrants and low end immigration absolutely depresses working class wages compared to what they would be without it. Whether it is a "primary cause" is frankly a stupid question to even raise. Of course there are big macro factors at work that nobody can do anything about.
Immigrants in general and particularly certain immigrants and illegal immigrants do not work harder. They go on welfare and so on. Even the ones who contribute something consume more than that in taxpayer-funded resources. It's not sustainable.
The sheer amount of immigration is also not sustainable. Assimilation is not happening. Vast new ghettos have been created largely divisible by ethnicity. Your asinine observation about a few restaurants in the densest urban areas is so irrelevant and stupid, it's insulting. |
