BCG Attorney Search: legit?

read up on them online and it sounds like there's a gamut of opinions about them, some saying they're legit and others going as far to say that they're scam artists. |

EDIT: I wouldn't be surprised if they just submit your resume without ever telling you. Which is not really helpful if they're just spamming employers with whatever comes their way. |

I found one that I liked (local to my market) and stuck with him. He had a bunch of local connections and did more than just copy and paste the public postings from all V100s.

also, lateral link sucks and i'm still getting form emails every month from some idiot recruiter there telling me about the "thriving legal market" despite the fact i told them that i'm no longer looking. |

Date: April 2nd, 2014 6:00 PM Author: Bespoke clear parlor macaca i used bcg for some v100 firms where i don't know anybody internal. they don't have exclusive listings or anything and are just another scum recruiter hoping to get any candidates in to stick. it's no more effective (and arguably less effective due to the recruiting fee that needs to be paid) than submitting on your own. i had a screening intv at katten muchin where they were literally screening like 50 candidates for 1 position, lol.
i didn't bother w/ laterallink since all their listings were for like OMM, sidley etc and i can get people to submit me internally.
the only recruiters who are effectively are local ones that have exclusive listings to boutiques and other regional firms that you otherwise wouldn't know about. even then, most of them suck. |
