I think if you removed 4 or 5 items the test would be (and without those items it would be pretty easy to get them all right). There are some that are just ambiguous though. Not saying it isn't somewhat valid but I don't trust it completely.
If you want to take something that is a legit IQ proxy take the Miller Analogies Test for 30 bucks.
