i.e. something with a sail and so you could go out for several day trips on the sea? i guess a 10-15ft boat with a bed? And how much does it cost to park that in nyc? or other cities? Also how about parking it in your driveway at home and just driving it to marina whenever u need to go out?

It's not an "investment" but it is much worthier than buying a Bentley if you have to choose between the two. Price depends on if new or used (and if used, how old). Used, in decent condition and decently maintained, say $2m as a floor for a fairly recent one, increasing by lots ($3m, $4m) as you get closer to present. Beautiful boat.

Brother, that boat I linked you to wouldn't be a bad boat for your budget. And you could live off the sea / lake that you were situated in, fishing and eating and canning and tanning that fish.

I sold my boat before law school but am on track to buy a Seawind 1160 in 6-8 years.

Before that will rent.

Dude I know locally still has his Catalina 36. You ever in Seattle, send a shout out.

A used 36' mono hull? $50k.

That is large enough to live on and do blue water sailing with care
