Date: September 14th, 2014 12:45 AM Author: violet degenerate pre-obamacare the 3.8% "medicare" tax was only taxed on salaried/"earned" income. post obamacare the 3.8% "medicare" tax is also now taxed on investment/distribution/"unearned" income above a 200k/250k threshold for MAGI.
edit: pre-obamacare the earned income medicare tax was only 2.9% but post-obamacare they raised it to 3.8% if MAGI hits the 200k/250k threshold. |

Meanwhile a significant portion of this country has $10 mm+ in assets and they get taxed the same or less than us. Half of them are held up as "hero" small business owners who never pay any fucking taxes ever.
So yeah, call us rich, but don't tax us like we're the richest. |
