You're missing the point. It's annoying as shit that a lot of us on xoxo get taxed as if we're "fucking rich" as you put it despite the fact that we live in tiny micro-apartments, have to work 14 hours a day, and are massively in debt. We're only rich in the sense that we can eat at Chipotle every day and spring for the guacamole.
Meanwhile a significant portion of this country has $10 mm+ in assets and they get taxed the same or less than us. Half of them are held up as "hero" small business owners who never pay any fucking taxes ever.
So yeah, call us rich, but don't tax us like we're the richest.

haha this is spot on. mon and tues are for the gov. wed and thurs for the landlord and the lending bank. fri is our own. living the dream.
high income earners (lawyers, doctors, bankers) have always paid an absurdly disproportionate share of the tax burden. unfortunately, we are not a sympathetic constituency. it will never change.
where two high income earners get married, the tax penalty only increases. I tried explaining this to my biglaw shrew gf. I did not go over well - you know, how dare I put a dollar value on love.
