PMP cert: TTT or worthwhile?

I mean there significantly fewer PMPs in the entire world than there are j.d.s just in the U.S. Seems like a lot of alpha jobs value this qualification too. |

Everyone I've asked for advice says that it is a worthwhile certification to get. |

I'm in a management role now but i think most of it would fall under business as usual rather than project management. How much do they really look into what you do? And how malleable is the concept of "project management." Don't they want like 4k hours experience? |

I hope the concept of project management is very malleable. They supposedly audit a small percentage of the resumes submitted to them. |

While most of the jobs won't even ask for a PMP or specify it as a plus, HR/hiring departments recognize it instantly. It let's you spin an easy narrative about how you're capable of "managing legal projects" and "running the legal department efficient / like a business / within budgets + time constraints". The latter points distinguish you from the pile of other JD applicants coming from law firms who don't possess any business related certifications.
