One of the world's top universities in most respects, Yale has fallen way behind in computer science

Yale is still good for finance, business side of start ups / technology and shitlib like paths such as the one taken by Allison Williams.

Pretty easy to copp unless you're a terrible networker. It's still fucking Yale so if you can't get a gig from there, you just suck at life.

(guy who never attended an Ivy)

The job market still sucks for new college grads. Even Ivy grads can struggle to find any sort of full-time paid work. As I recall Princeton released a study showing that only 30% of their graduating class had full-time employment six months after graduation. Granted, a lot of that was due to people who either went to grad school or who took a gap year before applying to grad school, but the point remains that the job market is still SPS for new graduates.

No. It's really easy to get a CS job in SV even as a recent grad. A couple of internships is more than enough

I've been in SV for a while and haven't seen a Yale CS out of hundreds of engineers. I always assumed they just stuck to the east coast.

Computer Science has become a pleb-tier vocational study.

Any Yale CS majors are likely going on to get their PhDs so that they can do work in natural language processing, vision, robotics, &c.

No one argues that Yale CS is good/not good.

I'm insinuating that the sort of person to attend Yale wouldn't even think about majoring in CS because it's so fucking prole.

Any Yalie with a modicum of social skills can work his way into a startup in a sales/business-type role. Just think of how much easier it is to get funding if you've got a HYPSMC guy on your team. He basically pays for himself just by putting his bio on the website.
