Date: November 5th, 2015 9:52 PM Author: flushed misunderstood point deer antler the original trilogy barely used green/blue screens - the death star trench run was filmed by building a death star trench model out of wood, metal and plastic, putting some cameras above and inside the model, and then driving by the model in a pickup truck and throwing small explosives at it. (no, seriously, there's a video of the original star wars special effects team doing this.)
but even if we overestimate a bit and say the original star wars was like 10% green screens, the fact is that the prequels were like 50+% green screens. every fucking scene is shot in front of a bunch of gungans or flying ships or droid armies or giant fake waterfalls or whatever the fuck. it's horrible. |
