Atlanta vs Miami: Better city to do a summer internship?

It's with the same employer basically, just different offices.
My main concerns are not becoming enriched by diversity (i.e., becoming victim of a crime) and public transportation (I probably won't have a car). |

If you don't plan on returning to either for a job, Miami is probably a better place to say "I spent 6 weeks one summer" there, just because its so different than anywhere else in the US.
Atlanta can be fun too. But if you don't know anyone, 6 weeks isn't enough time to meet a lot of people to have fun with, because a lot of the fun shit is with other people. I feel like you could get around and do shit on your own better in Miami
You absolutely need a car in Atlanta to get anywhere. MARTA (the subway) is shit, and doesn't go to many parts of town. Seems like Miami is more compact and you can live closer to everything than in Atlanta too.
I doubt Atlanta is more dangerous than Miami. |

Miami also has tons more good restaurants, cool lounges/bars, beaches, etc than Atlanta. Your office would likely be in Brickell or downtown and have ocean/bay views; you'd likely go out for drinks at cool waterfront places with colleagues. There'd be lots more concerts and events, and better eye candy.
