3) only the religious right cares about this

4) agreed

5) ?? This transcended partisanship and people were glad when this happened

6) Not sure if this rises to big enough of a deal -- but either way lots of evidence affirmative action hurts minorities (which I suppose is a good thing for libs?)

That you dont think controlling the SCOTUS, House, Senate and most State statehouses and governerships is important is why Dems never really win anything.

The House and Senate have been useless for them. They've failed at their agenda and gave away their party to the crazies.

SCOTUS is about to go generational dem.

Statehouses are important but with ever increasing federal power, fed gov is more important. So in actuality, the statehouses and the policies republicans push in them, are a net negative to the national republican party.

Congress useless? They completely fucked Obama. What has he done in 8 years?

He passed a healthcare plan that was considered conservative in the 90s and it's considered his biggest win. He only won victories when he moved the liberal finish line closer to the right.

And you think state houses are less important than the federal government? Lmao at polisci shitheads.

The GOP now controls 68 out of 98 partisan state legislative chambers -- the highest number in the history of the party. Republicans currently hold the governorship and both houses of the legislature in 23 states (24 if Sean Parnell wins re-election in Alaska), while Democrats have that level of control in only seven.

as noted above, gun rights has been a pretty big victory. on a state-by-state basis, carry rights are WAY more expansive than they were even just a decade ago. "constitutional carry" is now legal in a bunch of states. gun sales are higher than ever.

nope. most policy on guns is at the state level. several states have even passed (mostly symbolic thus far) laws nullifying federal authority where firearms are concerned.

all the federal courts can do is uphold more restrictive laws in states like california. they can't compel other states to ENACT tougher laws.

all that does is make gun rights STRONGER and INCREASE gun sales. people want to be able to protect themselves if the police/authorities refuse to do so.

false rape accusations.

UVA Jackie, Duke lax, etc have showed that many women are insane and that "I was raped" can mean "I was attractive enough to be raped" and there is increasing judicial resistance to OCR overreach. Feminist college administrators playing Judge Dredd are waning.

See also, free speech on college campuses. Organizations such are FIRE are owning authoritarian shitlibs across the country on this issue.
