there are passive cooling systems that pump cold groundwater through radiators and cool your house you can do this very economically, modern homes stay very cool

What is the upfront cost compared to a conventional air conditioner of the same capacity?

How many years will it take for me to break even?

Geothermal cooling system needs to be pumped out into yard into a pipe system long enough and deep enough for the water that absorbed the heat from your house to cool down.

I was on board until I read this. Seems wasteful as fuck.

With the geothermal I think they recirculate water back into the ground to keep temperature consistent.

What you're proposing is simply pulling up more water and after it's absorbed some heat dumping it down the sewers.

Those setups sucks in humid, hot areas of the country. The best part of modern AC for us Houston bros is the humidity sucking properties.

It need not be water, you can have thermally conductive pillars going into the ground and your walls. They will cool in the summer and warm up in the winter.
