So I'm currently in the process of applying to 5 top MBA programs. Aside from the obvious career reasons, I'm very excited about the life-changing social opportunities and experiences. I currently live in a city where I know virtually no one, my good friends all moved out, and my work is filled with older married people. So the the prospect of spending 2 years partying, traveling, and networking with smart like-minded and interesting people, just seems awesome.

Here's my question. If I don't get in, what steps can I do to improve my social life? Is it possible to duplicate the amount of fun you can have in b-school without going to one? It seems like unless you're extremely rich and work for yourself, b-school is the most fun any of us will ever have.

The HBS guys have MAD SWAGGER. They frequently wear their class jackets to boston bars, strutting and acting like they own the joint. They just ooze success, confidence, swagger, basically attributes of alpha males.

In business school, I do just enough work to get by and don't have to worry AT ALL about my grades. Almost no one is competitive when it comes to academics, so we all just chill and have a good time. And since I have more money now, I can splurge once in a while on cool trips. For example, I just came back from a trip to Rio de Janeiro with 60 of my classmates: sightseeing, getting bottles at upscale nightclubs, lavish sushi and steak dinners, etc. It was pretty cool, and on the plane ride back home, I thought to myself, "Wow. This is so much more fun than college on every level."

How do you guys who regularly hit on HB9+ compete against really good looking guys? Is this a futile effort, or can sufficient game lure girls away from them and to you? I have a friend who is ridiculously good looking, and I'm saying this as a completely straight man. Every time we go out, girls open him, and he gets laid without even trying. Plus, he's rich to boot and wears really nice clothes. His game is average, but looks and money have done wonders for him. Can "average" guys, armed with game, really compete against these types of guys who have it all?

I guess I should clarify what I mean by competition. I meant being able to close a girl, whether that's sex, kissing, or just a number. We can all assume that a HB10 will get approached by the best looking and richest guys at a venue. And at a big city like Chicago, where I live, wealth and status matter a lot. So I'm just having a hard time believing how game alone can make the girl ignore all those options and choose an average looking guy with an average salary. The social value of wealth, power, and celebrity, is too hard to compete against.

People tell me he's pretty solid as well. There's also this guy called dahunter who is legendary. He does a lot of peacocking and is extremely aggressive. I actually think Chicago is tough, due to unfavorable demographics. Every place I go to is like 70% guys. And in addition, there aren't that many HB9+, so they're in extremely high demand, thus making the competition especially keen. I know nothing about Toronto, so I can't make an assessment. What makes it so tough?

I was talking to my friend last night who lives in NYC, and he mentioned how horrible the stench is in the city during summer. He described it as a mixture of feces, urine, and decaying garbage. I guess the main reason for this is the fact that NYC does not have alleys and people put their garbage bags on the street corners. During summer, it is bound to smell pretty bad as all the rotten garbage just lays out there.

I never understood how a city that is supposedly so wealthy cannot adopt basic sanitation standards like the rest of the civilized world. NYC is so behind other major cities like Chicago, in terms of overall urban planning and design."

As some of you guys may know, Papa has managed to build a ridiculous lifestyle in LA, consisting of going to exclusive parties with playmates and models. Most of us in this forum, including myself, don't have problems making friends or even doing well in social situations. However, I've been unable to thus far penetrate the "IN" crowd here in Chicago. It's been really difficult to meet cool guys who know tons of hot girls and cool parties. I realized that getting HB's are a lot easier if you're in the right social circle. What does it take to get into this group? I would love to hear your thoughts on this topic, including advice.

Hey guys. This is really embarrassing, but I want to be honest with my fellow PUA's. I just got back from a really classy lounge in Chicago and feel utterly demoralized. The night started well. Things went downhill when I spotted a tall blonde HB9.5 with two of her girlfriends and this short bald chubby guy. I approached her and asked an opinion opener I made up. She looked at me like I was a weirdo and told me to ask the guy. He then AMOG'ed me and made the girls laugh. I had no idea what to do; my knees started shaking, and I got nervous. I then talked to one of her friends. The conversation started reasonably well, but I ran out of things to say, and she just walked away. Today is one of those days when I so wish I was making 10 million a year or was a celebrity, so I can get those girls without breaking a sweat. A part of me even thought maybe I should leave the game and devote all my efforts to making a shitload of money. This weekend I plan on redeeming myself. Nonetheless, it really stings when your dream girl turns you away like a sack of feces.

Thanks for the encouragement guys. I called in sick for work and feel a lot better. I think the trap I fell into last night is what Tyler calls the "dancing-monkey" stage, where you just want to entertain the girls. I was trying too hard to make them laugh. This is an issue I've been struggling with big time. How do you develop attraction without falling into that "dancing monkey" frame?

You're absolutely correct. Pointing out examples of rich AFC's is not really relevant. Of course there are rich guys who are socially retarded. But I'm a pretty confident guy, and my skillset is good enough that being rich will help me exponentially. Furthermore, wealth gives you a ridiculous amount of confidence; you start to talk, dress, and act differently when you have money. I have no problem approaching women and making them laugh, but it doesn't usually go beyond mere entertainment. They don't take me seriously because I don't have anything else aside from humor, personality, game, or whatever else you want to call it. That is why I believe that if I were making seven figures, I would get hotter girls than RSD instructors. Once I get to that level, I am willing to personally challenge Tyler himself.

Mindset of a True Player

Last night I was talking to my friend who's the biggest player I know. The guy is 32 and has been with several hundred girls. He was telling me about his recent trip to LA and Vegas and how girls were handing out their numbers because he was with all these hot models. This conversation inevitably raised the topic of social validation that a man receives when he's seen with hot girls. What's really interesting about my friend is that he genuinely doesn't crave validation and could care less what people think of him. He said when he was a dork in high school, he wanted it, but as he grew more confident around women, his desire for affirmation decreased. It seems like most players have this "don't give a fuck" mindset that allows them to be free from a lot of the limiting beliefs that guys have. One of my biggest goals for the upcoming year is to no longer seek validation from women. It's a really difficult thing to accomplish, but I think my game will increase enormously if I can.
