I've realized why I'm drawn to history in part coincides with my basic function of my brain. I'm very retrospective, constantly regurgitating the past and lamenting the passage of time, always fascinated that time can just flow the fuck by.

Not being able to regurgitate the process of change from the past to the present is basically my biggest fear- which is part of the reason why XO is amazing b/c we can bump years old poasts and "go back" to that point in time

THere's also an underlying fear that ultimately what we remember to be the past is really not like we think it is.

Maybe I'm romanticizing some aspects of the past, and maybe I was still feeling this existential dread back in the late '00s but I choose to ignore that in the context of the present
