Animation and face complaints are overblown. They aren't as good as other games like Witcher 3 but they're fine outside 1 or 2 characters.
Combat is punchy and fun. Most dynamic combat of any ME game by far.
Writing has moments of millenialism but is overall good with a few particularly good characters. Natalie Dormer is great as the ship doctor. The krogan companion is great; he sends you an email after a sad thing happens to you to cheer you up and it's a bunch of pics of big guns. |

Date: March 24th, 2017 8:32 PM Author: drab depressive But 4.4 user score. By comparison, Titanfall 2 has 86 metacritic and a user score of 8.1. Battlefield 1 is 88 and 7.5. For one of the most anticipated games of the year those are awful numbers.

Kind of how the last Star Wars just was a mediocre movie and I think someone saying "holy shit, we waited for years and got a shittier version of 'A New Hope'!" and votes a 0 or 1 is fair.
Yes, you should expect that high budget, hotly anticipated shit is graded more harshly. But that is also true for the likes of Battlefield 1. |

Date: April 1st, 2017 1:18 PM Author: Adventurous Boiling Water The reviews went soft on it if anything. I own the game because I preordered it at a heavy discount a long time ago and wasn't aware of the controversy with it. I went in blind and immediately perceived major issues.
The first was "why in the FUCK can't I make a white character?" I fucked around in the character creator with my GF for about 45 minutes, and nothing we could do would make the character look "not azn." I went online to research and learned that one of the devs was racist and didn't want white people in the game.
The facial animations are completely lolworthy. It's not just a few cutscenes taken out of context. Every scene has characters either with vacant, dead eyes, or eyes manically flitting around like autistic crackheads. Facial expressions get twisted into bizzare grimaces. The walking animations are truly hilarious. They tried to add weight/momentum/physics to simple walking and direction changes, which was much more complex than a game like this needs, and it has absurd results. The animation somehow makes it look like legs are about a foot too short, although this may not be noticed unless the FOV is zoomed out (although the default is too zoomed in so you will probably do this).
The characters are ugly as fuck, in fact the females were made intentionally so to appease womyn. However in addition to being unattractive, they are also very low quality. The hair on some NPCs looks like it was pulled from the worst morrowind NPCs circa 2002.
The writing is truly terrible. This writing, combined with very lengthy dialogue trees, is completely insufferable. I just can't do it. My girlfriend has been handling these 10 minute dialogue wheels and just giving me the cliffs. The voice acting doesn't help. Some of the characters sound like small staff indy games where the developers double as voice actors.
The only nice thing I can say is that the graphics out on the planets are good, especially maxed out and running in 4K on an OLED with HDR. The catch? I have two GTX 1080 ti's, with solid overclocks on them, and the game still dips below 60FPS. That's $1400 of just-released GPU. |

He said that if you never played the original series, you wouldn't like this game.
Seems like a pretty shitty game then. |
