the community feel here (and on pr before this), this boart, and the people on it have changed and grown and gone through so much together. like... i remember so many funny things about different poasters lives. like TMF and mandy and their struggles and then TMF finally getting a good job... julia WAY back in the day when she was thinking about med school. i remember earl when he first got his in-house position. the epic debates, the memorable threads like blackpeoplelikeporkchopsbecausetheyareshapedlikeafrica, the refrigerator thread, etc. everybody applying to law school, then gettng out, then getting biglaw, then the economy collapsing and everyone realizing what a sham GC is. then the rise of halford and the changing of this boart to all the funny gay sex/bdsm/weird shit. poasters like evan really coming into their own, etc.

and even though i took some big breaks from posting (1-2 years at a time), i still came back and lurked from time to time and followed the boart's progress and the progress of all the people here.

this community is unique because its small enough to have the same recognizable people and a sorta dysfunctional family feeling to it, but its still anonymous with the exception of some people who are public or were outted. and poasters stay on here for YEARS. as a collective group we're definitely an intelligent bunch and i think its interesting to watch us as we go through our lives. its just something really unique in terms of internet shit that i dont think any other sites *really* have

yeah I feel like I am lurking at the edges of a great, tight, lifelong group of friends (have been lurking occasionally for a decade but only posting for a couple of years); I lurk for the funny and intelligent stuff of which there is astonishingly much here for a random tweetblog, but I know I missed out on really being part of it, cotdamnit

as for me- i really feel like im more on the edge of things here really. i was a very prolific poaster back in like 2001-2004 and then again in like 06-07 but since then ive been on again/off again and not really as tied to any of the ongoing stories/personalities here like others have been. but i still really enjoy it
