my theory is simply that patent pros bros happen to have higher iq's than patent lit bros, even though the work they do doesn't necessarily require it.
i say this bc there are MORE advanced degree bros in patent pros. plus you have random patent lit bros who dont even have science backgrounds.
but this is just my theory. i cant prove it. |

the median patent prosecutor is more intelligent than the median patent litigator.
however a solid patent litigator with an advanced technical degree like EE/CS/CE is probably going to be one of the smartest people in the firm. |

though, the patent litigator with a prestigious advanced degree is mostly not in the top tier of patent litigators at the firm. more often than not, they're below average patent litigators. either they're too smart for the job, or they dont have the right attention to detail, or their writing skills aren't so great and they can't handle the legal side as well as the technical side, etc. |
