There's definitely low trust in certain institutions, presidents being the no 1, but middle/low level public institutions in Korea for the most part are very efficient.
Seoul for example releases every internal document online for citizens to see in a PDF format, and make it easier for people to petition for shit like new stoplights and shit.
THink how shitty our municipal governments are, and just how terrible we are at even creating a health care exchange website to work.
The US survives on the power of its free individuals, decentralized structure that makes some states work better, and probably the best STEM research in the world.
But our mid/low level institutions are just SPS and ever since we made our gov't agency jobs a form of welfare for minorities, the level of service in our public institutions has just become SPS. Our airports and roads and bridges are definitely not 1st world status. |
