"With regard to incorporating a description of the public service loan forgiveness benefit in the MPN, the Department is already taking steps to refer to the program in the MPN and other program documents. However, the MPN will continue to state, as it currently does, that the terms and conditions of the loans are subject to the HEA as it is amended in accordance with the effective date of those amendments. Although there is no history in the program of Congress eliminating or reducing a borrower benefit, the Department does not believe that a reference to the public service loan forgiveness program in the MPN would provide the borrower with a contractual right to the benefit should Congress take action to eliminate that benefit from the HEA as of a particular effective date."

No, I was referring to your analysis of various employment options. When you were making your decision on whether to stay in the AUSA's office, you should have discounted the amount of loans you expected to be forgiven to account for the uncertainty of realizing the full forgiveness of your loans. As someone else pointed out, it was fairly evident that something was going to be done to limit PLSF, even if dems had a say in it.
On an unrelated note, I have a question relating to your job. Bump this if you are around.

There is a large portion of society who hold this view and make decisions accordingly.
As I mentioned in the other thread, when you stand to benefit from government largesse that is directed towards one of the party's favored groups, it is foolhardy to not discount the value of the future benefit to account for the possibility that the law may be changed.

I think a realistic compromise is to cap forgiveness at like 20K, with the balance transferred to new PAYE.
Looks like PAYE/IBR are going to 30 years and will be probably be extended out to perpetuity before any forgiveness is ever given.
