She may not ever be able to have kids. A couple years ago she wanted to get pregnant but I wanted to wait. Now I'm worried that we may not have another chance. I had absolutely no interest in having a child until recently. I'm not particularly religious, but I'm begging God to allow us another opportunity.

Yeah absolutely. Her cousin offered but the husband is the epitome of prole jackass and said no. Maybe he's under the impression that I'd need to fuck his wife? Her sister also offered, but if I remember correctly she had some complications with her first pregnancy and may not be the ideal choice.

Thanks for the encouragement brother. She has a particularly aggressive case, but it does not typically prevent women from becoming pregnant. The biggest issue is that she's taking a drug that is best discontinued 2 years in advance, however a washout procedure has been developed that can be administered during the first trimester and appears to eliminate the complications associated with that medication.

She needs to be producing eggs. If she can have her period, she should be able to do IVF and freeze embryos. I know people can get damage from childbirth or other issues that make childbirth dangerous, this avoids the issue entirely.

You can still have your period without ovulating. You need to check to see if your wife is ovulating.

Figure out if the medication damages the eggs themselves or an embryo (more likely). But who knows if you can take her meds with fertility drugs needed for ovulation to freeze eggs. Worst case though, if you do have to wait 2 years, but she if she has no fertility problems, she will easily get pregnant witthin 3 months. It's easy for women in early-mid 30s to get knocked up as long as they time intercourse to ovulation.

Ty will do. The 2 year waiting period would be nice, but it's no longer absolutely necessary since a washout procedure can minimize complications even when the medication is taken until the pregnancy is discovered. Right now the biggest issue is that the disease still needs to be aggressively medicated until it enters remission or improves enough to allow for management with milder drugs.

cr

The vast majority of women have no problems getting pregnant in their early 30s. It's only after 35 and then 40 that fertility drops first substantially and then drastically.

Jesus. The wife is under 30 and seems to have a legitimate issue with fertility. One of the biggest arguments in favor of marrying young is so you can do fun couple-no-kids trips like these Napa trips. Cut the OP some slack.

I edited, but it's not that weird. The married-young couples I know all took heaps of trips pre-kids and said that was a big argument in favor of marrying young - spending time as a young, childless couple with all of dat disposable income and sleep and freedom.

But, then again, the people I know enjoy things like international travel and seeing plays and going out to eat and don't think too much about how GC or shrewy they're being.

Update: wife and I discussed it. This is the first time I've actually told her that I'm interested having a kid soon. Because her health is our number one priority, we may opt for surrogacy instead since it would not carry as high a risk miscarriage, medically necessary abortion or compromises to my wife's healthcare. We are going to get the ball rolling on having her eggs cryopreserved.
