LAWYERS: can business owner sue you over bad Yelp reviews?

i wrote a scathing review for a new restaurant. I simply said the food tasted bad and it was overpriced. I submitted many photos to prove that i was actually there. I wrote from a subjective point of view. I said that the food didn't taste good for ME, however others could form a different opinion.
Well the owner personally emailed me to take down my review in exchange for a refund. He said that my review will hurt his business and that he's just a father who is trying to feed his family.
It's a dog eat dog world, ladies and gentleman. Why should I feel bad if he's providing the public with terrible food? I'd take my review down not for a refund, but for fear of a lawsuit. What's the chance he would file one? Would he win? |

In the business world, if you don't provide something valuable, you get eliminated. It's not MY fault his food stinks. If you're a father, why take the risk of opening a restaurant? Why are you doing that when you could find a regular job to provide for you and your family? Seems awfully selfish. I have no remorse. Why? Because I could easily get fired from my job if i have lackluster performance. I look out for ME. It's a dog eat dog world. |

Discovery requests are focused on financials and internet history. If client is willing to pay, private investigator already had the names of the spouse or close family, and I'm serving deposition notices.
I've done it a dozen or so times and never charged more than 10k before defendant agreed to stop the defamation.
It's shit work and not a primary practice, but it's fun to do. |

i also stated that the location is terrible as it is in a major street. and that street has lots of noise. and that same street is probably not family friendly.
i also stated that parking is impossible to find. |
