doesn't really seem *that* soft batch. why the fuck would you ever need more than ONE PT?
edit: i'm wrong apparently old format was both tuesday and thursday = three state essays in the morning and one THREE HOUR PT in afternoon.
that's the dumbest fucking thing i've ever heard. who in their right mind could grade a fucking THREE HOUR PT w/o blowing their fucking brains out?
that said i'd be pissed too if i went through that fucking bullshit and passed only to see them switch from warrior mode to beginner a few years later. pretty sure the substance is the same but that's some endurance test bullshit. even texas's 3 day exam only does a half day on tuesday. |

Got one essay where about 75% was on topics I'd worked on recently, drafting substantial motions or memos (i'm already practicing in another jurisdiction) and had similar luck on multiple subparts (25% or 35% of a question) that were similar, i could recite the authorities by name if i wanted to and could state the issue, rule, etc. in Wright & Miller-esque language.
more important, i had a great draw in terms of subjects i'm not very good NOT being part of any essay and my bad subjects including one of the few ares i was decent at or being combined with something i'm strong in. |

i'll try and sleep in about two hours, but don't have high hopes. just the nature of the assignment, for me apparently. |

after writing enough briefs you can just throw buzzwords back: fiduciary duty, duty of loyalty, substantial hardship, implicit good faith and fair dealing, etc etc etc. |

then around midnight the day before the MBE i broke down and spent like ~$100 for a set of questions from the NCBE, but i didn't end up doing that many of them, but reviewing them during the break helped.
the last bar exam i did before California i think my average was something like:
Crim: 85% Torts: 80% Evidence: 80% Con Law: 75% Contracts: 70% Real Property: 30% |

i literally didn't even know they'd added civ pro to the MBE until like 3 days before i took the test, although it probably ended up helping me since i do lit, thus the 12(b)(6), summary judgment, directed verdict type questions were very easy for me. |

if i had to guess at how i did on the MBE i'd say i was probably in the mid to high 60% range. i think they say 68.5% right on the MBE correlates exactly to the scaled 144 cut score. i would guess that i passed by the skin of my teeth, but who knows? |
